The group of 6 women, 6 men and a child are arranged seated, lying and standing against a backdrop of palm trees. They are dressed in traditional formal attire, wearing hats or helmets. One of the men, lying on his side at the front, is called 'Bill' according to a pencil marking under the photograph. Pencil markings on the adjacent page note that 3rd man on the back row is called 'P.W.D'. and the woman to his right is 'Mlle'. In the second row, the lady on the left is called 'Mrs Burge' and the man to her right is 'Summers'. In the front row (from left to right), the note reads 'Murray', 'Viceregal L?'
