Demonstration assembly of the NSDAP, 1932 (b/w photo)

Berlin, Berlin/City State, Germany One of the great demonstration meetings of the NSDAP in Berlin in the last year before the collapse of the Weimar Republic in 1932. The Gauleiter of Berlin, Dr. Josef Goebbels acts as the main speaker, in front of a giant swastika flag, flanked by swastika flags and the SA standards of the Berliner SA-storms. Above the speaker a banner with the words 'The attack - The Berlin Kampfblatt of Hitler'. The access to the speaker's platform is protected from political opponents, who may have intended to blow up the assembly, by a multi-row, thick cordon of SA and SS men.
