Die damit verbundene Christbescherung ist nur in Deutschland und Skandinavien heimisch und macht Weihnachten zu einem eigentlichen Kinderfest. Translation: Christmas Presents. The old wooden tree pyramid with burning candles was replaced in Germany in the 19th century by the evergreen fir tree, both ancient Germanic symbols of the newborn sun and natural power.
