HH the Aga Khan leading in Mahmoud. His Highness, who headed the list of winning breeders in 1932, 1934 and 1935, has won the Derby on three occasions, Blenheim (1930), Bahram (1935) and Mahmoud (1936), the latter being only the third Grey Horse to win the Derby in the history of the race. Bahram won the Triple Crown (Derby, St Leger and Two Thousand Guineas) in 1935, the first time for over 30 years that such a feat has been registered. He has the distinction of being the only man to own the first and second horses in the Derby. Illustration for Photocard issued by Ardath Tobacco in c.1936.
