The Mote (No 2), Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent. A view of the south front of the Mote with its colonnaded west side, showing the lake and park. It is a charming watercolour, freely painted and full of interesting details; note the carriage dashing up the drive to the house past the quietly grazing cattle. George Sidney Shepherd made this study which was made into a print and published in 1829 by George Virtue of London. The print is also held in the collection.
