Image description

A large section of corrugated tin roofing from a home along the road to Pinar del Rio, 150 kms from Havana, is seen after being ripped apart from heavy winds and rains in the aftermath of Hurricane Lili, October 1, 2002. Lili uprooted trees and destroyed homes in western Cuba with 100 mph (160 kph) winds on Tuesday before entering the Gulf of Mexico and heading on a path threatening the U.S. Gulf Coast. It was the second major storm to hit the tobacco-growing Pinar del Rio province in 11 days, a one-two punch not felt in Cuba since 1948. No casualties were reported. REUTERS/Rafael Perez RP/GN
