Farm Equipment, Tractors Case model 'C' 35 hp tractor, 1931. Case 'C' agricultural tractor on pneumatic tyres, manufactured by the J I Case Company Incorporated, Racine, Wisconsin. Not to be confused with the J I Case Plow Company, who made the Wallis tractor, this company was responsible for what many regarded as the 'Rolls Royces' of the tractor world. The wartime versions imported under lease-lend were very highly prized by those British farmers lucky enough to obtain one. This particular machine is one of the models made in between the two world wars. It is the next size down from the Model 'L', the largest of the range but, unlike the latter, it was manufactured in a wide number of versions for specialised work, such as orchard, rowcrop, industrial etc. Photographie. ©SSPL/Science Museum
