Young man at a Mutoscope, an early motion picture divice invented in America in 1894 which, by cranking, scrolls forward frames to create the illusion of moving images. The Mutoscope works on the same principle as the flip book. Technically, the device worked so that the images sit on a rotating drum and show at approximately 16 images per second.
