Under the mistletoe. There is a superstition that mistletoe is lucky, and that to kiss beneath it foreshadows matrimony. This no doubt has its origin in the betrothal ceremony which, during the Druidical period, was performed under the sacred mistletoe. Illustration for one of a set of 25 cigarette cards on the subject of Popular Superstitions issued by Godfrey Phillips in 1930.
