How films are made: Engine in Station (colour litho)

Engine in Station. This engine was built for the film, "Rome Express," entirely of wood and plaster in the Studio workshops, and represents a triumph in the "prop" maker's art. The back of the engine is, of course, an unfinished, hollow shell, though this would never be suspected when you see the picture on the screen. All details are carefully checked by experts before any filming is done, and the station itself is also a faithful reproduction of the Gare de Lyon.
