From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Deir el-Bahri & el- Asasif, Senenmut Quarry New Kingdom 18th dynasty, joint reign of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III Smashed on the order of Hatshepsut's nephew and successor Thutmose III and dumped in a quarry close by, recovered by the Museum's Egyptian Expedition (MMA excavations, 1926–28) Hatshepsut declared herself Pharaoh and is shown wearing the nemes-headcloth and the shendyt-kilt, the ceremonial attire of the Egyptian king, which was traditionally a man's role.
