Åke Seyffarth, 1919-1998 Swedish athlete. Competed in both cycling and skating. The years 1939-1940 and 1943 Swedish champion in the 50 km cycle race. However, he became best known as a skater, probably the best of the 1940s. Early in the decade, he became world champion in both 3000 meters and 5000 meters in Davos. In the 1948 Winter Olympics, Seyffarth became a silver medalist in the 1,500 meter skating and a gold medalist in the 10,000 meter, the same year he again became Swedish champion in all four distances. The picture published in the newspaper Se no. 18 in 1940 with the headline "One who is quick in the legs". He has recently won all four distances in the Skating Championship in Eskilstuna.
