The Archaeological Site of Segesta is located in Sicily between Palermo and Trapani near the town of Calatafimi and the village of Castellamare del Golfo. The ruins of Segesta surrounded by nature and a typical Sicilian landscape include a large temple built in the fifth century BC. still well preserved consisting of 36 Doric columns that support the pediments and the whole trabeation. It also includes a large amphitheater excavated on the summit of Mount Barbaro 400 meters high: it is a semicircle of 63 meters in diameter with a strong abutment and the scene facing north towards a very wide panorama of the hills, the cultivated fields and the sea towards a perfect infinity.
Il Sito Archeologico di Segesta si trova in Sicilia tra Palermo e Trapani vicino al paese di Calatafimi e al paese di Castellamare del Golfo. Le rovine di Segesta immerse nella natura e in un tipico paesaggio siciliano comprendono un grande tempio eretto nel quinto secolo a.c. ancora ben conservato costituito da 36 colonne doriche che reggono i frontoni e tutta la trabeazione. Comprende anche un grande anfiteatro scavato sulla vetta del Monte Barbaro a 400 metri di altezza: è un semicerchio di 63 metri di diametro con una forte gradonata e la scena rivolta al nord verso un panorama molto ampio delle colline, dei campi coltivati e del mare verso un infinito perfetto.
