Lovely Rosa leading Outbreak. Lovely Rosa, T Weston up, is shown winning the Kennet Stakes at Newbury, 26 June 1935, from Outbreak. Lovely Rosa won the Oaks in 1936 and is owned by that popular sportsman, Sir Abe Bailey, Bt, trained by Cottrill at Lambourn, and is by Tolgus out of Napoull. Lovely Rosa, who was bought as a yearling by Mr H Cottrill for £388, is the first horse owned by Sir Abe Bailey to win a classic. Starting at 33-1, she won by 3/4 length in 2 mins 36 secs.
