Tomb of Kaemankh, Giza (photo)

Kaiemankh constructed his tomb in the Western Cemetery in one of the north-south streets between the older tombs. In his time, during the Sixth Dynasty, part of this street was already taken over by other officials. Detail of the right section of the south wall shows female dancers. The scene is similar to the one carved on the walls of the chapel above ground, but it differs in some details. Three dancers are shown with arms raised in a circle above their heads wearing short skirts. A fourth dancer is naked with her long hair tied back wearing only a collar. She takes a different pose, swinging her right leg behind her and raising her left arm behind her head.
