Image description: Stalin in the attic. The portraits of the Generalissimo, works that gave the artists who created them fame and honors, have disappeared or are about to disappear altogether from the museums of the Soviet Union. The gallery staff were ordered to remove the paintings depicting the effigy of the dictator who died in March 1953. Operation Quadri is part of the offensive unleashed at this time by Nikita Khrushchev, secretary general of the Communist Party, against the one who for so many years had been exalted as father, teacher and leader of the Russian people.
