Image title
The tower of the New York Times, New York, United States, construction 2007, architect Renzo Piano. This 279 meter high tower presents an interesting technical feature. The agency has designed, on the metal structures carried to the outside, a second skin giving the illusion of a large floating sail, passing the summit by about thirty metres. Composed of 200,000 tubes of vitrified ceramics, this second skin, a kind of permanent sun breeze, detaches facades with extremely transparent glazing, perfectly reflects the light of the sky and the city.
