Sep. 09, 1953 - Reception at R.A.F. Club for Author of” Boldness be my friend”. It would have scared most ex-airmen to have to lecture so many of the R.A.F's top brass. Not so Richard Pape. who worked his way up to be a Warrant officer in War-time, but was never commissioned. Among his audience at London's R.A.F. Club last night were three Air Marshals (Tedder, Fogarty, Whitworth Jones). He was telling the high-ups about his new book” Boldness be my Friend”. which describes his escapes from German prison camps, also showing them some of the gadgets he used to get away
