He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelia, and world music (notably calypso). In mid-1966, Donovan became the first high-profile British pop star to be arrested for possession of cannabis. It had a serious effect on his career, because of the charges he was refused entry to the US until late 1967. PICTURED - Folk singer Donovan recording his compositions based on the original troubadour ballads for movie 'Brother Sun, Sister Moon.' Donovan's choir consists of eight nuns, students of Theology at the Ponteficial Institute Regina Mundi in Rome
