Creator: Willem van de Velde, the Elder A port quarter view of a ship heave-to under mizzen and main and mizzen topsails with forecourse and topsail laid aback. There are two piers very close together on the left. Ships are at anchor and there is an admiral under way beyond. In the distance, several other flagships are beyond. The drawing of the pier is executed in the manner of the Younger. However, the ships in the background mark this out as the work of the Elder. The work is unsigned. This is one of five drawings of Dutch squadrons (the others are PAJ2333, PAF6473, PAF6474, PAI7684), approximately dated by the style and subject.
