Fairness or the sailor's prayer before the battle. An anecdote from the Battle of Trafalgar (1805), a cartoon based on naval practices, when an enemy ship was captured, the winning crew divided the catch, most of it going to the captain, then to the crew officers, and a quarter of the tribute went to the rest of the crew, here, a kneeling sailor praying before the battle, a Officer asks him why, given that victory is assured, the sailor replies that he hopes that enemy fire will be distributed in the same proportion as the distribution of the catch.
