The Early Morning of Life, The Daily Bread. The earliest Indian savages were gradually ousted by another race of the same general civilization. But these were long-haired and comely, though snub-nosed and broad-faced, and browner, stronger and larger than their predecessors. Their descendants still live on in difficult isolated localities in the same low scale of civilization. They were driven out of the better lands by Dravidian races of the same general physical type, but endowed with a high capacity for mental development.
