Caves stacked with in excess of 20 truckloads of heavy weapons and ammunition are blown up by British Royal Marines in Paktika Province in eastern Afghanistan May 10, 2002. British soldiers blew up four caves on Friday stacked with munitions they say was left behind by al Qaeda or Taliban fighters. Munitions continued to explode for hours beneath 40-metre deep craters - all that was left of the hill where the munitions were found. The caves, some sealed with padlocked metal doors and others with mesh, were spotted in mountains where a 1,000-strong force led by troops from the Marines' 45 Commando.
