A view March 14 of the Palestinian village of Anata just on the outskirts of the Jerusalem municipal bounderies with the expanding Jewish settlement of Pizgat Zeev behind. Israeli state owned media reports that Israel intends to handover to full Palestinian control several villages on the outskirts of Jerusalem, including Anata, as part of the map drawn in consultations with Palestinian officials. This would be part of the promised but postponed 6.1% Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank which should take place soon. Giving up Palestinian villages near Jerusalem is raising criticism from the opposition. Pizgat Zeev is considered by many a "settlement" as it was built as an expanding inexpensive Jewish neighborhood in Arab East Jerusalem, but government officials see it as an intergral part of greater Jerusalem.
