U.S. President George W. Bush hosts a meeting with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder in his hotel suite in New York, September 24, 2003. U.S. President George W. Bush and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said on Wednesday they had set aside past differences on Iraq and agreed to work together toward bringing stability to the country. Bush was angered when Schroeder campaigned for re-election criticizing U.S. policy in Iraq, and is now seeking German support for creating a multinational force in Iraq to ease the strain on U.S. troops under daily guerrilla attack.
