Choice examples of early printing and engraving, facsimiles from rare and curious books. Dialogue of the Sun and the Moon. The present plate is from a book called the 'The Dialogus Creaturarum,' in which conversations between the sun and moon and various animals are related and illustrated. The work was first printed by Gerard Leew at Gouda, Holland, in 1480. Each dialogue is set off with cuts in the style of the present one; and the work is by no means the least interesting amongst the Dutch examples. Published in The World's Great Classics, Library Comittee; published by The Colonial Press, New York & London, 1899.
