Lisbon demonstration- An angry woman. The years following 25 April were marked by the democratization of the country and decolonization. These transformations are taking place despite major divisions between the MFA, which wants a radical revolution, and the socialists and social democrats, who want to moderate the revolution. For two years, the country was marked by major unrest called PREC (strikes, occupation of large landowners' land, coup attempts, etc.). It was not until the adoption of the current Portuguese Constitution on 2 April 1976 and the election of Ramalho Eanes as Head of State that the situation was “normalized”.
