Pierre Mendès France, sometimes nicknamed PMF, was a French statesman, born on January 11, 1907 in Paris and died on October 18, 1982 in the same city. He was introduced to political life in 1924 in student movements opposed to the extreme right. He met Édouard Herriot, who motivated him to join the Republican, Radical and Radical-Socialist Party (PRRRS). At the time of the defeat that forced the government to take refuge in Bordeaux, he was one of those who wanted to continue the war from North Africa, and he boarded the Massilia with a number of deputies and politicians. He was President of the Council from 1954 to 1955. Enjoying real popularity in public opinion, Pierre Mendès France preserves the image of a model politician who marked the history of the Fourth Republic
