Elements of a Louis XV cream-painted panelled room, c.1750-1940 (polychrome wood)

The panels overall with C-scroll, acanthus and ruffle and trailing vine-carved surrounds and above rectangular wainscotting panels with molding, some panels with apertures for fireplace, overdoors, a doorway, mirrors and two painted panel overdoors by a follower of Francois Boucher, mirrors for some of these apertures included, the 19th century grey-veined marble fire-surround with Spanish brocatelle panels and rouge royal marble insets, the 20th century hearth of grey-veined marble, the interior of the fireplace with a modern concrete lining, the panels marked variously with yellow-painted numbers reading 'NORTH WALL' and 'SOUTH EAST', etc., multiple black and blue chalk inscriptions and with blue-bordered paper labels inscribed in graphite with numerals, redecorated
