Election appeal of the Christian Social Party, 1903 (b/w photo)

An election appeal by the anti-Semitic Christian Social Party, which culminated in the German National People's Party ("Deutschnationale Volkspartei") They saw themselves as a countermovement to Marxist socialism and usually referred to the Protestant court preacher Adolf Stoecker in Berlin or Catholic mayor Karl Lueger in Vienna. After the emancipation of the Jews, German entrepreneurs felt threatened by the Jewish competition, in addition to the romantic-Voelkish ideas of this party. In this anti-Semitic election appeal, voters are urged to vote in the Reichstag elections against the Jews, "Jewish liberalism" and "international exploitation" and for Aryan blood, the German language and the German people. Factually and linguistically, the poster anticipates some of the theories of the NSDAP.
