Durie Lane, Douglas, Isle of Man, 1932-34 (b/w photo)

On the back of this photograph John James Frowde writes, "Durie Lane. These houses were both Inns in days gone by. For that matter, there were few houses in this area of which the same might not be said. The last people to live in this house by the lamp, told their friend Mrs Lindsay, who spent most of her life in the Bull's Head, Fairy Ground, that in the cellar there were two built up passages - Eastward. In print 43 will be seen part of the barrel-vaulted cellar of this house, just showing extreme right - the whole of it is visible in the 120 print."
