The Hotel du Petit-Bourbon (seen on the right of the image) was the Parisian town house of the Bourbon family; constructed in the 14th century just east of the Louvre; after the Bourbons became rulers of France in 1589 they used the Louvre as the primary royal residence but the Petit-Bourbon remained in use for court ceremonies, including the marriage of Louis XIII and for meetings of the Estates General in 1614 and 1615; it was also used in 1658 as the first theatre for the troupe of Molière; pulled down in the 1660's to make room for the constrauction of Perrault's colonnade for the Louvre;
