Lettersheet containing vignette exterior views of the U.S. Naval Asylum, the convalescence home for retired sailors, and the State House, i.e., Independence Hall. Views show street and pedestrian traffic, including a horse-drawn wagon and omnibus as well as a man on horseback. Asylum built 1827-1833 after the designs of William Strickland at 2420 Gray's Ferry Avenue. State House built 1732-1748 after the designs of Andrew Hamilton and Edmund Woolley at 520 Chestnut Street.
