Autograph: Letter from Benjamin Disraeli, written in 1837, before he entered parliament to Macvey Napier, editor of the 'Edinburgh Review'. Disraeli proposes that he contribute an article on James Morier's novel, 'Zohrab the Hostage', 1832, in opposition to a laudatory notice of it in the 'Quarterly Review'. Written 23 February 1833 at 35 Duke Street, St James'. Signature: Benjamin Disraeli. In a subsequent letter, dated 15 March Disrael abandons the idea, on the ground that he has been invited 'to stand for Marylebone' and is engrossed in the contests. British Prime Minister, parliamentarian, Conservative statesman and literary figure, 21 December 1804 19 April 1881. Source: British Museum.
