An exceptional rescue. In the New York harbor a steamer rammed a boat loaded with 300 passengers. The shipwreck was imminent; but the captain of the investing steamer ordered to proceed with the bow stuck in the boat, in order to push and support it, while preventing the water from invade. During the exceptional maneuver, the sailors transhipped all passengers in danger. Then the boat was abandoned, and immediately went down. Illustration for Courier Sunday, 12 June 1938.
