Alfred Josef Ferdinand Jodl (1890-1946) was a German soldier who was the Chief of the Operations Staff of the Armed Forces High Command (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht) during World War II. He signed the unconditional surrender of the Third Reich for the then President Karl Dönitz in 1945. He was executed by the Allied Powers for war crimes in 1946.
