'A miner who has worked in the mine since he was fourteen years old and has tried to save money and have a better home, with his wife who suffers from a bronchial condition and asthma. They live in Chaplin on Scott's Run, West Virginia.' Photograph taken by Marion Post Walcott when working for the Farm Security Administration (FSA) as part of Roosevelt's New Deal.
