FOR RELEASE WITH FEATURE BC-BANGLADESH-BROTHEL - Teenage prostitute Lipi explains that she had several years of schooling before but had to give it up and enter the sex business at Daulatdia brothel, 95 km north of Dhaka, because her mother was a sex worker and she insisted her daughther take up the same profession. Over 1,500 prostitutes are housed in Daulatdia's century-old brothel on the bank of the river Padma, where Save the Children Australia (SCA), a non-government charity organisation, has recently started a scheme to educate the prostitutes about safer sex and help them find a way out of the profession.
