Early electric fire, 1900-1920. Electric fire with two Dowsing incandescent sausage-shaped bulbs and ornate Art Nouveau metal surround made by the General Electric Company, England. This is typical of the type of low output electric fire made for middle class households in large towns who had electricity supplies.
