29.153 TEXTILES: COSTUME bag: great seal bag England (place of manufacture) circa 1682-1685 silk, metal, wood overall: 430 mm x 405 mm Burse for the Great Seal of England in red velvet decorated in silver and silver-gilt threads, purls and gilt spangles. On the front are the arms of Charles II embroidered in raiseworl. Drawstring ties in red silk and gilt thread with large tassels. Belonged to Sir Francis North, 1st Baron Guildford.
