Image description

An Iraqi man holds a portrait of his dead child as hundreds of people march through the streets of Baghdad carrying the coffins of children they said died because of sanctions as Iraq said it would not back down on its decision to withdraw cooperation with the U.N. weapons inspectors. Iraq announced on Saturday that it was halting all cooperation with the U.N. Special Commission (UNSCOM) inspectors and monitors until the Security council reviewed the lifting on sanctions and removed UNSCOM Chairman Richard Butler. FK/WS
