Advertising poster done by Achille Lucien Mauzan (1883 -1952). Picon is a caramel-coloured, flavored bitters drunk as an aperitif, which traditionally accompanies Beer in the east and north of France. Here Mauzan uses the image of a king and the bottle on its scepter and wearing an orange peel as a royal robe. The orange peel is a key ingredient in this drink.
