Two residents of Greenwich Hospital, collected from the grave of Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) in the crypt of Saint Paul's Church (London, England). The first, hat in hand, looks at the grave where the name of the deceased can be read and the other stands respectfully on his crutch, which indicates that he had his leg amputated as a result of his participation in naval combat. Nelson's image has been a true icon for Greenwich residents and for national memory.
