HOKGET THE DOG ARRIVES SAFELY IN HONOLULU AFTER WEEKS ALONE AT SEA, 2002-05-02 (photo)

The dog "Hokget" is carried by Hawaiian Humane Society Veterinarian Dr. Becky Rhoades after the dog arrived aboard the tugboat that towed-in the burned out fuel tanker Insiko 1907 to Honolulu Harbor, Hawaii on May 2, 2002. The dog spent 24 days alone on the abandoned and burned-out Indonesian fuel tanker until rescuers found the vessel, rescued the dog and tugged the derelict ship to Hawaii. The dog was inadvertantly abandoned during rescue efforts after an engine room fire aboard the tanker on March 13 killed one crew member and severely damaged most of the ship. REUTERS/Ken Ige APB/TRA
