Oil spilled from the Prestige tanker now affects virtually the entire coast of North of Spain. Spain said on Friday it was sending ships to clean up oil slicks directly above the sunken tanker Prestige amid mounting criticism over its handling of a disaster which has wreaked havoc on the Spanish coast. Fishermen on Spain's northwest Galician coast accused the government of trying to suppress information showing that the tanker, which sank on November 19 spilling 17,000 tonnes of fuel oil, was still leaking.
