US Marine Cpl Michael Craig from Berryton, Tx. in his 'fighting hole' at a forward position at the US Marine operations base in southern Afghanistan as the sun sets December 4, 2001. [On Craig's hat is written " 11 September 2001 Fighting For The Fallen World Trade Center Pentagon", and on the other side (unseen) is written "The Justice Squad." Craig, along with most other marines on this base is eager to see action against the Taliban and al Qaeda forces. Marines at this area are with Charlie 1/1 of the 15th MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) and are a small mortar company protecting the extreme north line of the base.
