An Iraqi woman bakes bread on a Baghdad street, April 6. Women had stopped selling bread on the streets due to bad quality flour provided by the Iraqi government. Last Wednesday the Iraqi government began distributing the first food rations to its citizens under the oil deal which went into effect in December. The deal permits Iraq to export oil worht $2 billion in six months to elleviate the impact of sanctions on its people. More than 400,000 tonnes of wheat bought under Iraq's food-for-food deal with the United Nations is expected to arrive in Iraq by mid April.
