Image description

Making Fog. One frequently sees on the screen at the cinema men groping along in a thick fog, and the illustration shews how this fog is produced in the studio. A special substance is ignited and carried about the set on ladle-like carriers. A thick, peasoup smoke is given off, and this is wafted about to the density required by other men with flappers. Fog of this kind was extensively used in the film, "Channel Crossing," a scene from which is depicted, and men are seen "renewing" the fog before filming proceeds. Illustration for one of a set of cigarette cards on the subject of How Films are Made, issued by B Morris in 1934.
