Image description

The fabric for these vestments came from Italy and was provided by Antonio Cersi of Florence and Lorenzo and Iernimo Buonvisi of Lucca, both of whom formed part of the circle of Thomas More. The embroidery is of English work and was undertaken by the King’s own embroiderers. It is probable that these vestments were used at the coronation of King Henry VIII, and of subsequent Tudor monarchs.
