Jack Petersen. Jack Petersen, of Cardiff, seen here during sparring practice, is the best heavyweight Great Britain has produced for many years. Held British and Empire titles, which he successfully defended against Len Harvey in a "rubber" match early in 1936. Won amateur light heavyweight crown in 1931. Turned professional soon afterwards and though having had set-backs, notably from Harvey, Walter Neusel and Ben Foord to whom Petersen lost his Championships, still ranks as one of Britain's best. Illustration for Photocard issued by Ardath Tobacco in c.1936.
